About the Author
Deanna is a dedicated holistic health practitioner. She began her training as a massage therapist, learning anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. She was trained as a full Pilates instructor, offering individual sessions and classes on the main Pilates training equipment and mat. She is trained in Thai Yoga massage and has practiced it for 15 years. Her journey into yoga began while taking Iyengar based classes, which appealed to her because of the strong attention to alignment and modifications. She went on to study various forms of yoga, including Asthanga, Viniyoga, Sivinanda, Bikram, Kripalu and Baptiste before she decided to do her teacher training with Sri Dharma Mittra in New York. She has studied with Allison West, Sadie Nardini, Todd Norian, Raji Thron, Street Yoga, and more, and is proud to be a certified AiRealYoga teacher under Carmen Curtis. Deanna specializes in teaching asana practice with a high degree of alignment and attention to the core, while infusing fun and lightheartedness into the practice.
