Description
Following World War II, an extraterrestrial virus clouds Manhattan and the survivors mutate into metahumans: jokers, deformed beings with uncommon abilities, or aces: normal-looking people who develop flight, mind-reading, or other powers. Soon the mafia and others compete to hunt or control these exceptional beings, some who take up crime rather than doing good.
