Description

This book is written for all with an interest in lung disease. This includes health care students such as nursing and respiratory students. As this book is written in a manner made understandable to all with a reasonable educational background, readers should also include patients, families and caregivers. Students and patients are not mutually exclusive. Patients with lung disease should have a workable understanding of medical issues involved. Students' coursework and clinical time will become more meaningful after reading this book. For patients, I am well aware that time spent in a physician's office is frequently short. There is a schedule to maintain and many issues to be covered. This often results in too little time for a complete discussion of all that needs to be and should be discussed. This book is meant to enhance medical knowledge and allow more productive interactions between physicians, health care students, patients and family members. Patients should think of this book as a possible extension of physician time. Health care students should think of this book as providing a practical, everyday approach to lung disease. Topics covered are in detail.
